SMS PTSA Board Meeting
August 3, 2011
Snoqualmie Library
6:30 to 8pm
Present: Chantal LeBlanc, Tina Townsend and Kendy Sasaki-Ross.
Regrets: Lulu Jaimes.
Old Business:
-corrections made to name changes
-audit date set from July 19th to August 3rd/2011
-Chantal motioned to approve the minutes with added corrections. Kendy seconded the motion. Approved.
-audit for 2010-2011 school year was completed on this date with the following people present: Molli Ashbridge, Theresa Johns, Chantal LeBlanc, Tina Townsend and Kendy Sasaki-Ross.
-date set for August 24th from 12:30 to 2:30pm
-need volunteers for the barbeque and PTSA sign up table
Action items:
-Tina will contact Mr. Newell to see if the school is organizing the barbeque, or the PTSA, also numbers expected and if the school will be emailing 6th Grade families.
-Tina will contact Sarah regarding last year’s list of volunteers.
New Business:
1. PTSA Membership:
-discussed if last year’s membership person, Danielle Gonzalas, will head this years membership drive.
-PTSA board members will wear red t-shirts so that parents can identify us and ask questions if needed at the welcome barbeque.
-idea came from the board members to have one sheet that had the following information: membership fees, spirit wear cost, option to pay ahead for fundraising instead of waiting until the pledge drive and simple explanation about what the parent’s funds are supporting . (ie: Enrichment Grants for books, supplemental educational supplies for special events, extra curricular activities.)
Action items:
-Tina will redo the membership form
-Tina will inquire regarding whether the fees stay the same
-Kendy to contact Replicator Graphics and ask regarding costs for hoodies and t-shirts.
-Kendy to get samples for kids to try on at the welcome barbeque
-training provided to board members regarding roles and responsibilites.
-Kendy will meet with Nancy and see what was provided last year and see if we can get an independent website up and running, along with weekly information provided in the SMS newsletter.
